Deborah Rasso, LMHC, MCAP, ICADC, NCC, LPC, CH
Deborah (Debbie) is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Master Certified Addiction Professional (both internationally and in Florida), a Nationally Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor (North Carolina) and a Certified Hypnotherapist. She has a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She gained he Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
Debbie has more 25 years of work experience. Her most recent work has been in addiction treatment. She has worked in the capacity of Therapist, Intensive Outpatient Director and Clinical Director. She has been a part of the team at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches, The Palm Beach Institute, Just Believe Recovery, Unity Recovery Group and Peace of Mind Counseling and Wellness Center.
Debbie took the specialized training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients with trauma issues and to help with desensitizing cravings in addictions. When she realized how effective this treatment is for her clients, she went on to take the advanced training.
Throughout her time as a therapist she has also been active in presenting workshops at local, state and national conferences. Her focus has been on using the arts in counseling and on mindfulness and meditation for stress reduction. Among her resume of presentations are The Moments of Change Conference 2014, The National Association for The Education of Young Children Conference and The Annual University of Central Florida Counseling Conference.
Debbie continues to expand her knowledge by attending training to stay on top of the latest research and to advance her understanding of mental health issues and to broaden her knowledge of treatment modalities.
Debbie brings not only the knowledge from her degree and her continuing education but also her “life experience”, with first hand knowledge of parenting, marriage and family issues as well as an understanding of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD and addictions.
She resides in Wellington, Florida with her husband, dogs and cat!
